Pam Dunn grew up in Alaska and came to Denver for college. She never left. She studied at Colorado Woman’s College and the University of Denver, raised her children here with her husband, and has now spent more than two decades helping other people make their own homes in the city.
A teacher’s approach to a complicated process
Pam is a teacher by training, with an advanced degree, and it shapes the way she practices real estate. A home purchase or sale is a long sequence of decisions, most of them made under deadline. Pam’s job, as she sees it, is to make sure her clients understand each one before they have to make it: what the contract actually says, what an inspection finding really means, which concessions are worth asking for, and which are not.
Her teaching background also keeps her closely acquainted with schools across the metro. Buyers often ask about them, and Pam can share what she knows and point them to the right sources to evaluate specific schools and verify district boundaries for any address.
Both sides of the table
Pam represents both buyers and sellers, and the two inform each other. Listing homes teaches her what sellers and their agents are weighing when an offer arrives; representing buyers keeps her honest about what a home is really worth to the people who might live in it. She is a veteran negotiator of residential contracts, and her clients describe her as the person who keeps things moving to the closing table.
Her sales have ranged from a 624-square-foot condominium in southeast Denver to a $3.3 million home in Cherry Creek’s gated Belcara enclave, and from a 1908 Congress Park townhome to golf-course condominiums in Highlands Ranch.
City office, suburban home
Pam keeps her office at Compass in Cherry Creek and lives in the suburbs. Day to day, that means she moves through central Denver and the south and east metro constantly, and she knows how the two compare: lot sizes, commutes, HOAs, and what a dollar buys in each.
She is also experienced with clients who are not in Denver at all, whether they are relocating, settling an estate from out of state, or selling a home they inherited. She coordinates the people and the logistics on the ground and keeps her clients informed at every step.
